Series FPD are flatpack high density d-c to d-c converters for board mount applications featuring fixed frequency (500KHz) operation. These are available in 5, 10, 50 and 100 Watt models.

50 and 100 Watt Modules
The FPD 5W and 10W modules require no added cooling for normal operation. Optional heatsinks are available for the 50W and 100W modules. The special construction of FPD fastens surface-mount devices to the aluminum base plate so that excellent thermal coupling is obtained. Depending upon your application, FPD modules may be fastened by their baseplate surface to a chassis or other cold plate -- or a finned radiator may be attached.

Finned radiators available
for 50W and 100 Watt designs.

For normal operation at 100% current, the average base plate surface temperature should be maintained at or below 85°C. The Output Power vs. Ambient Temperature curves illustrate the effect of various air flows on the finned radiators.
